In August 2020, Julia Popcheva visited the town of Montana and the surrounding villages of Krapchene, Stubel, Lipen, Trifonovo and Belimel. Meetings with people of all ages were marked by sadness about the relatives abroad but also with hope for recent meetings with them. Several topics were discussed concerning the integration of our compatriots abroad, the change in the quality of their life and the changed worldview of their relatives left in Bulgaria. Talks were also held with relatives and friends of women watching the senior people in Italy, as well as with the new “internet” grandmothers who can see their grandchildren most of the time online.
The studies in the region continued with a one-day visit at Mezdra town on Aug 28, 2020.
